Historical - sporting - green - lively

The area around the collegiate church in Sindelfingen bears witness to the founding of the Counts of Tübingen and the cradle of Tübingen University. Sindelfingen has a wonderful historical city centre containing half-timbered houses, fountains and St. Martin's Church. St. Martin's Church is one of the oldest Romanesque churches in Württemberg.

Sindelfingen's historical old quarter provides an ideal atmosphere for creative restaurateurs who spoil local residents and German and foreign guests with their different culinary delights.

The charming old quarter is not the only attractive feature of Sindelfingen: a large number of spacious parks and well-kept green spaces lend the 61,000 strong city its own individual character.Green spaces represent 40% of the area of Sindelfingen – a fantastic figure for a city which many people associate with the largest car plant of Daimler AG.

For example, Sommerhofen Park was the site for the State Horticultural Show in 1990: other green areas such as Klostersee, Goldbachanlage, Dronfield Park and Aibachgrund enhance Sindelfingen as a residential area and tourist attraction.

However, Sindelfingen contains other facets: the sports city.Visitors come from near and far to major sporting events, some with international competitors, at the Glass Palace. These events include, for example, the Mercedes-Benz Junior Cup, the German Indoor Athletics Championships and the European Judo Championships. Swimming enthusiasts also travel long distances to the largest aquatic centre in southern Germany with its modern outdoor pool and a large competition-size indoor pool.

Sindelfingen is also an ideal location for business travellers. This is firstly due to the large number of conferences and congresses that take place here. The second reason is the outstanding range of hotels with a good 2,700 beds and the almost unbeatable proximity to Stuttgart Airport and the Stuttgart Trade Fair Centre.
